Inscription. Returned Major League Baseball to his hometown in 1970 by founding the Milwaukee Brewers, the winners of the 1982 American League pennant.

Selig, UPI's 1978 Executive of the Year, led the Brewers to seven "Organization of the Year" awards as the club featured homegrown Hall of Famers Robin Yount and Paul Molitor and fellow Cooperstown legends Henry Aaron, Rollie Fingers and Don Sutton.

As Commissioner, Selig implemented popular structural changes including the Wild Card, the three-division format and Interleague Play.

In 2001, Miller Park became one of nearly two dozen new Major League ballparks to open during Selig's tenure.

Baseball enjoyed its longest period of labor peace with the MLB Players Association during Selig's Commissionership, changing the game's economic landscape with significant revenue sharing among the clubs and implementing the toughest drug testing program in American professional sports.

MLB consistently posted record levels of attendance and revenues under Selig, who expanded the game's reach with successful ventures such as MLB Advanced Media, MLB Network and the World Baseball Classic.

Erected 2010 by the Milwaukee Brewers.
