3. Marker on Bennington Battlefield
On the afternoon on August 16, 1777, Colonel Moses Nichols’ New Hampshire Regiment of militiamen joined with the Vermont Rangers under Colonel Samuel Herrick just north of here. They began their assault on the British main position from this location.
