1. Indiana House Marker
The Indiana Hotel, later renamed the Indiana House, was constructed on this site around 1870.
Christian Null acquired the Indiana House in 1881 and operated the business until its closing in the late 1890s. In 1900, the present building was erected, replacing one of the colorful landmarks of Baxter Springs' "cowtown" era. In this century, it was a feed store, a grocery store, and later a general merchandise store.
