James Lawrence Orr
Born Aug. 29, 1852
Died Feb. 26, 1905

[South Inscription]:
Representative in the Legislature.
Fearless and efficient Solicitor
of Eight Circuit for seven years.
An able and successful lawyer.
One of the most prominent and
successful manufacturers in the
south. A leader among men.

[East Inscription]:
This monument is erected by
the Piedmont Manufacturing
Company in commemoration of
James Lawrence Orr, who for
fourteen years served the
company faithfully as
President and Treasurer.

[North Inscription]:
"I have fought a good fight;
I have finished my course;
I have kept the faith;
Henceforth there is laid up
For me a crown of righteousness."
