Prior to his death, he was recognized for
risking his life to save others during
intense combat and was awarded the
Purple Heart after being wounded in action at
Hill 192, St. Lo, France.
Erected 2009 by Cleve Cox along with the Seventh Generation of the descendants of Cary Cox and Mary Horne, and the Albany Parks and Recreation Department.
