Regarding Wisconsin Veterans Tribute. The Wisconsin Veterans Tribute began as a lone marker (Photo 1) placed in the spring of 1991 at a Highway 29 wayside three miles east of Chippewa Falls. Highway construction forced the wayside's closure and the marker's relocation.
At the base of each of the Tribute's flags are granite flag-markers engraved with veterans names, military affiliation, and/or donors names.
