Inscription. Organized in 1882 by the Rev. Ignatius Jascovich, pioneer Slovak Catholic priest, St. Joseph's is the oldest Slovak Roman Catholic parish in the Western Hemisphere.

Erected 1970 by Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
