Inscription. South side of base: In memory of all citizens of Bloomfield who served in the Army or Navy of our country for the defence of her freedom and honor

East side of base: A tribute to the dead, a memory for the living, and inspiration for posterity.

North side of base: God grants liberty only to those who love it and are always ready to guard and defend it.

West side of base: Dedicated in connection of the one hundredth anniversary of the incorporation of Bloomfield 1812-1912.

Erected 1912 by Township of Bloomfield.
