Inscription. The value of one's life can be measured by how he or she has added value to the lives of others. In 2003 this statue was dedicated to those who gave freely of their time to serve Westminster Citizens through the fire service and community activities.

Regarding WFD Volunteers 1934 - 2000. Founded in 1934 as a one-station, volunteer department, the Westminster Fire Department has grown to over 140 full-time employees including firefighters, paramedics, and support staff who serve the City from six fire stations and the Public Safety Center. The level of services offered to the citizen has improved from a bucket brigade firefighting force to a total emergency response and citizen service including fire protection, fire prevention, fire investigation, emergency medical care, ambulance transport, hazardous materials response, underwater rescue/recovery, trench and high tower rescue, safety education, health wellness monitoring, and general emergency preparedness.
