1. Woodberry Forest School Marker
Inscription. Two miles northeast is Woodberry Forest School, a college preparatory school for boys, founded in 1889 by Robert Stringfellow Walker, a captain with Mosby's Rangers. The school was named for the estate on which it stands, formerly owned by William Madison, brother of President James Madison.
 
Erected 1987 by Department of Conservation and Historic Resources. (Marker Number F-24.)
