The building Boren (left) and family stand in front of was originally a three-story bank building erected by John Hoge, a wealthy businessman, who would form the Union Trust & Savings Bank. This building would be replaced by the current 17-story Hoge Building, constructed in 1911 by James Hoge, John Hoge's nephew.
