1. Lincoln Home National Historic Site Marker

Inscription. Lincoln Home National Historic Site is part of the National Park System, one of more than 390 parks that are important examples of our nation's heritage. This unit of the National Park Service preserves the home of the nation's 16th president, Abraham Lincoln, and the character of Lincoln's 1860 neighborhood. Lincoln lived at Springfield for most of his adult life. It was here he raised his family, developed his beliefs about freedom and equality, and attained the highest public office in the country.

Lincoln Home Tours
Free tour tickets are distributed at the Visitor Center on a first-come, first-served basis the day of the tour.
If you are using a wheelchair, please advise the Visitor Center staff when you obtain a Lincoln Home tour ticket.

Safety
While visiting the Lincoln Home and the surrounding historic neighborhood, you will encounter conditions that were part of everyday life in the 19th century. Uneven and slippery boardwalks, walking surfaces with loose stones, and narrow staircases are part of the historic scene.
Please watch you step to make your visit a safe one.
