Inscription.
Earliest Church. . The Stanford Presbyterian Church, founded 1788 on this site, on Old Wilderness Trail. Land given by Mary Briggs, sister of Gen. Benjamin Logan. Church moved to its present site, 1838; land given by Logan, one of founders. In 1797, David Rice, father of Presbyterianism in Kentucky, preached here. The original log church now part of this library building. . This historical marker was erected in 1969 by Kentucky Historical Society, Kentucky Department of Highways. It is in Stanford in Lincoln County Kentucky

5. Old Presbyterian Meeting House plaque
The Reverend David Rice was ministering to the Presbyterians at Logan's Station as early as January 1785, this log structure became their meeting hourse in the early 1790's. Dedication November 19, 2006
