Inscription. This Victorian Gothic church was constructed in 1887-88 as the second home of the FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF WAUWATOSA. In 1906-07, it was rededicated as the ENOCH D. UNDERWOOD MEMORIAL BAPTIST CHURCH to honor Enoch D. Underwood, pastor from 1849 to 1887. When the Baptist congregation built a new worship center in 1953-54, this church was sold. Since 1960 this has been the home of several Latvian Lutheran congregations which merged in 1987 to form the LATVIAN EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN HOLY TRINITY CHURCH IN MILWAUKEE.
