Inscription. This memorial is dedicated with appreciation to the firefighters, police officers, and emergency personnel who unselfishly gave their lives while aiding their fellow men following the unprecedented act of terrorism against this country on September 11, 2001. Their courage, .. and loyalty during a time of national distress shows the character of this great nation.
