Regarding Burbank Post Office. Constructed in 1937, this building features classic Mission Revival architecture and is celebrated for its stunning architectural details. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Designed by renowned architect Gilbert Stanley Underwood, it features a characteristic Spanish tile roof, arched facade, and hacienda-style suspended lanterns. The interior is known for geometric masonry brick floors, tiled walls, and hand-painted tile murals depicting traditional Spanish scenes. The building was funded and constructed as part of the Great Depression-era Works Progress Administration (WPA) New Deal programs to provide civic jobs and infrastructure. It continues to operate as an active post office.
