1. Fenway Park Marker

Inscription. Fenway Park opened in 1912, then the largest ballpark in the major leagues. Home of the Boston Red Sox, it is the nation's oldest operating major league baseball venue, and a rare survivor of the "Golden Age" of baseball parks (1909-1923). Now the smallest major league park, Fenway Park's intimate setting and proximity of seats to the playing field are prized by fans. Among the great Red Sox who played here are Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, and Carl Yastrzemski. Fenway Park has hosted multiple Red Sox World Series, including a World Series Championship in 2004-the Red Sox's first since 1918.
