1. Wright Brothers in the Albemarle Marker
Inscription. On September 8, 1900, Wilbur Wright arrived here at the Norfolk and Southern Railroad Depot, then proceeded by boat to Kitty Hawk. The Wright Brothers made several trips through Elizabeth City, the shipping and supply center for northeastern North Carolina.
