Here, on August 25, 1944, ordered by Captain Sarniguet, sergeants Duriauz Henri and Pierre Noël, Corporal Charles Rouard and firefighters Conversy Marcel and André Taillefer of the Paris Regiment of Firefighters hoisted the tricolor in the still occupied capital.
