Inscription.  (Two markers identify this early California Adobe.)

Built prior to 1843. Home of Underwood and Brown families from 1860-1926. This tablet dedicated to the memory of Margaret Underwood Brown, a loyal native daughter, by Junipero Parlor No. 141 Native Daughters of the Golden West. April 24, 1948

Built in the fall of 1843. Now used as executive offices of the City of Monterey.
