Inscription. In 1821 the Indiana-Illinois state line was surveyed by General John Tipton for Indiana and Samuel McClintoc for Illinois. They ran the line and marked each mile of it from Vincennes to Lake Michigan.

Erected 1966 by Indiana Sesquicentennial Commission. (Marker Number 56.1966.1.)
