Church of God. . This Pentecostal denomination with headquarters in Cleveland, Tenn. was introduced on the Delmarva Peninsula in 1919 when the Rev. Paul H. Walker of North Dakota held a meeting in Princess Anne. The first church building, a simple frame structure no longer standing, was erected here in 1920 on land donated by Sidney and Bertha Dryden. The congregation moved in 1944 to Salisbury, founding the Parkway Church of God there. Walker Memorial Church of God was established in Princess Anne in 1969. The denomination began nationally in 1886. . This historical marker was erected by Delmarva-D.C. Churches of God and Maryland Historical Society. It is in Eden in Somerset County Maryland
