1. Gulf Coast Military Academy Marker
Inscription. This preparatory school for boys was founded in 1912. The senior division campus, closed in 1951, is now the site of the Armed Forces Retirement Home-Gulfport, formerly known as the United States Naval Home. The junior division campus, closed in 1976, was one quarter mile to the east. "Send us the boy and we will return the man."
 
Erected 2010 by Mississippi Department of Archives and History.
