1. The Californian Marker
Inscription. One of a group of "own-your-own" apartment buildings constructed in the 1920's. Close to the beach and the downtown business district. The Californian has a distinctive, elegant beaux-arts facade with fine masonry and detailing. Long Beach architect and engineer J.H. Roberts had a successful practice in residential and commerical buildings. He also designed the St. Regis on Ocean Boulevard, another historical landmark.
 
Erected 1989 by City of Long Beach Cultural Heritage Commission.
