Local covered bridge builder Eli Cox was the contractor for this building. Businesses have included dry goods, a harness shop, a bootery, a millinery, and an electric shop. The North Side Barber Shop has served Winterset's men since the 1930's. Countless young Winterset lads received their first haircut here. The back of this building opens into the North Side Cafe to the west. Apartments are on the second floor.

Erected 2008 by Madison County Antique Association.
