Inscription. The first concern for the early frontier people who settled in Menomonee Falls was shelter and a structure for their freedom of worship. This house was built in 1842 by Irish immigrants and is a rare example of the primitive but sturdy dwellings erected by the earliest settlers. In addition, it is believed to be the site of the first Catholic Mass in Waukesha.
