1. Springville and Sardinia Railroad Marker
Inscription. About 250 feet east of here was the eastern terminus of the Springville and Sardinia R. R., a narrow gauge railroad operating in the 1870's - 80's. Largely responsible for the development of Chaffee.
 
Erected 1971 by Erie County Sesquicentennial Committee.

Location. 42° 34.074′ N, 78° 28.656′ W. Marker is in Sardinia, New York, in Erie County. Marker is at the intersection of Olean Road (New York State Route 16) and Allen Street, on the left when traveling north on Olean Road. Marker hangs chained from a cross beam between the south side of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows building and Allen Street, completely invisible to southbound traffic on NY 16. Touch for map.
