1. Longmire Stagecoach Stop & First Conecuh County Post Office Marker
Inscription. Garrett Longmire had an early trading center, tavern and stage stop near here. He served as the postmaster when his store became a post office in 1818, one of the earliest in what was then the Alabama Territory. The Burnt Corn Post Office served as a distribution point for mail to many early post offices in south Alabama. In December of 1820, Longmire became Justice of the Conecuh County Court.
 
Erected 2012 by the Alabama Historical Association.

2. Burnt Corn Post Office
U.S. postal service to Burnt Corn began in 1817, when the village also became part of the Alabama Territory. The post office was closed in 2002 and the 36431 ZIP code retired. Burnt Corn is now served by the Evergreen post office in ZIP 36401.
