More about this marker. Both Darby Creek/Curl and Garwood cemeteries are OLD Quaker burial grounds.
The monument was originally constructed in 1931, at Darby, along with several “fake” tombstones to honor Revolutionary War Veterans. The real graves are farther up the hill, away from the road. It was later discovered (1950s) that Crary and Culver were buried at Garwood, not Darby Cemetery, and that the stone had been set in the wrong cemetery.
