Inscription. "Father of Jazz Violin." Classically trained as a child, Venuti went to grade school here. He introduced new string techniques; worked with his close friend, guitarist Eddie Lang, 1921-33. Led own band, 1935-43; was on screen & radio. Major comeback in 1968.
