T.B. Shannon is pictured on the left. He was a very innovative businessman of the times. His first business was a hardware store, which sold merchandise of all kinds. Through the years, his inventory included everything from gasoline to sporting goods to cream cans.

Look at the circa 1900s buildings. The appearance of the block is nearly the same, except for the east end.
