Additional commentary.
1. Marker Location
Seems to me that the marker may have been placed at the wrong location. His father's property (Samuel) in 1848 was on the road past the Lutheran Church: keep going north across the bridge just before the dog park heading toward Big Road. Saw on 1848 property map, not were the marker is currently located. But perhaps he was born in somebody's else's house.
