Inscription. Parish organized Jan. 1, 1837. First church consecrated 1838. Present church begun 1854, consecrated Nov. 15, 1860, by the Rt. Rev. William Mercer Green, first Episcopal Bishop of Miss.
 
Erected 1977 by Mississippi Department of Archives and History.
