Before autos became the primary means of travel, today's south parking lot featreud some popular attractions. Danceland was home to big-name swing bands playing for your dancing pleasure (interior shot insert). The original Dodgem (aka Bumper Cars) was right on this spot. The caterpillar was a classic cicle ride found in may parks across the country.
The super-fast Subway started as a Tunnel of Love water ride, and was converted to the Kaleidoscope dark ride during the Seventies. Gigglin' Gertie cackled away the day on top of the Subway.
