1. Judge John Biddis Marker

Inscription. In honor of Judge John Biddis founder of Milford, Pennsylvania in 1796. He named Milford after a town in Wales, the home of his ancestors. Judge Biddis was one of the first four circuit judges appointed by the Governor of Pennsylvania.

Assigned to this district he recognized the area as an ideal town-site and laid it out following the general plan of his native Philadelphia. This monument is located on one of the several lots preserved to the town by Judge Biddis for public use.

Erected 1965 by Pike County Historical Society.
