Inscription.
In 1775, Skenesborough was captured by American forces in the first aggressive action in New York. Benedict Arnold built his fleet for Lake Champlain here in 1776.

This exhibit shows a model of the gundalow Philadelphia, which was sunk by the British during the Battle of Valcour Island, and a deck plate from schooner Royal Savage which also fought in the battle.
