Inscription. For 75 years, this brick building - with its sign on the north side - was the Walnut Creek Meat Market, owned by brothers Fred, Joe and Harry Lawrence. (The fourth brother ran an auto garage across the street.) The family meat market moved to Alamo in 1986.

6. Walnut Creek Meat Market Marker

Above is a replica of a sign that was painted on this wall in the early 1970's and removed in the early 1980's. Below is a photo of the actual sign (the phone number was changed to "Est. 1910" since the business closed in 1985. This replica was made to honor the rich history of this structure. This plaque was made in collaboration with the Walnut Creek Historical Society.
