1. Amite County Courthouse Marker
Inscription. The State's oldest courthouse, built in 1839-41, replaced the building located on this historic square. Seat of Amite County, formed Feb. 24, 1809. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
 
Erected 1983 by Mississippi Department of Archives and History.
