1. Miles Gilbert "Tim" Horton Marker
Inscription. Miles Gilbert "Tim" Horton played his first game, on this site, as a member of the Buffalo Sabres at the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium against the Atlanta Flames on Onctober 8, 1972. Horton capped off his professional playing career with the Buffalo Sabres, playing defense from the start of the 1972 season until his untimely death on February 21, 1974. Throughout his 25-year career in the National Hockey League, Horton played 1,446 regular-season games, scoring 115 goals and 403 assists for a total of 518 points. In 1964, Horton founded his namesake restaurant chain, which opened its first U.S. location in 1985 in Amherst, NY. This statue was sculpted by renowned American artist Jerry McKenna of Boerne, Tx.
