Juan Pablo II.

... a joint and coordinated effort is required, overcoming individual and party interests, in order to move towards a progress that is both moral and spiritual, both human and social, based on an education in the authentic values capable of making Nicaragua a nation that stands out amongst all the nations of the continent.
John Paul II.
On the occasion of his second visit to Nicaragua, February 7, 1996.
His Holiness John Paul II, with his pastoral visit to Nicaragua, has set his eyes on the eyes of our people; and with his eyes, his testimony, his presence has led us to Christ. His visit was undoubtedly an event of extraordinary historical importance, which has been marked with white stone in the annals of our capital city. But above all it is for us, as believers, an ecclesial event and a bearer of grace.
