1. El Cerrito's Music Scene Marker
Caption: El Cerrito schoolmates formed a band that later became Creedence-Clearwater Revival, which produced many hits from 1968-1972.
Inscription.
Both El Cerrito's and Richmond's populations quadrupled between 1941 and 1945 due to the massive influx of wartime shipyard workers. These workers brought new musical styles, such as blues, western swing and country. This musical melting pot remains strong and has helped foster several well-known artists.
