1. Abrams House Marker
Inscription. These Quarters are dedicated to GEN Creighton Williams Abrams, Jr. (1914-1974). LT and Mrs. Abrams lived here in the late 1930s, when he was with the 1st Cavalry Division. He later served in World War II, when he commanded the 37th Tank Battalion as it rolled across Europe into Germany. He also served during the Korean War, and subsequently was Commander of U.S. Forces in the Vietnam War. GEN Abrams was Chief of Staff of the Army from 1972 until his death.
