Inscription. Artillery Brigade Cantonment commanded by General Henry Knox hutted near this site during second winter encampment of Continental Army in 1779 – 1780.
 
Erected 1977 by Morris County Heritage Commission.

Marker is located across the street from Burnham Park, where the artillery horses were pastured.

3. Park of Artillery Marker
Gen. Knox lined up the artillery along this road during the 1779-80 winter encampment. The hillside behind the marker was the location of the huts of the Artillery Brigade.
