Site of the gates at the original entrance to Riversdale, or the Calvert Mansion. Built 1800–1803 by Baron Henri Joseph Stier of Belgium, as a wedding gift for his daughter Rosalie Eugenie who married George Calvert, June 11, 1799.Erected by Maryland Historical Society.

Regarding Riversdale. Oliver Street would lead right to the Riversdale Mansion three blocks east, if it were not interrupted by the railroad tracks. 5. Oliver Street and Baltimore Avenue
Today's Oliver Street was the driveway of Riversdale off of the Baltimore Washington Turnpike, today's Baltimore Avenue (Route 1). The Victorian houses along Oliver Street are among the oldest in Riverdale Park.
