1. 1993 National Champions Marker

Inscription. LSU won its second NCAA title in three years with an 8-0 victory over Wichita State in the College World Series final. Freshman right-hander Brett Laxton established a CWS championship-game record with 16 strikeouts in the contest.

The 1993 Tigers also captured the Southeastern Conference title, as LSU became the first SEC school to win the league championship in four consecutive seasons (1990-93).

The '93 squad, in the 100th anniversary season of LSU Baseball, began the year ranked No. 1 in the preseason polls. A century of baseball excellence was culminated as the Tigers claimed the crown, posting a final record of 53-17-1.
