Vietnam Memorial
1964 - 1975
Freedom is not a conflict, it is a birthright. 2.9 million Americans served during the Vietnam Era to preserve this right. Like our forefathers they served this great country with pride and dignity. Over 57,000 brave men and women sacrificed their lives for this right to freedom. Americans like these have kept this country free for over 200 years. All they ask is to be welcomed home and to remember them always, for they have earned the respect and admiration with their blood.
Here with their names inscribed, we honor our northern Michigan sons who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of all men. May God and country bless those who served and died in Vietnam.
Erected by Vietnam Veterans of Northern Michigan.
