1. Neck Meeting House Native Garden Marker
Inscription.
These native plants have evolved in this region over 10,000 years and are well adapted to the area's unique conditions. They contribute to the health and the environment by filtering pollutants, moderating storm water runoff and preventing erosion, as well as providing shade to moderate temperatures and food and shelter for wildlife. This project benefits the water quality of the Upper Choptank River, which flows into the Chesapeake Bay.

The Caroline County Garden Club planted this garden in the fall of 2007 in partnership with Adkins Arboretum, Caroline County Historical Society, Chesapeake Bay Trust and Choptank Electric Cooperative, Inc.
