Excavated from solid rock, this underground magazine provided a secure and dry storage area for ammunition.

The shells were wheeled to the guns. The cartridges were carried up the passageways and passed through the issue hatches. Strict routines and rigid safety regulations reduced the chance of accident.

Ce magasin souterrain creusé dans le roc constituait un endroit sûr et sec pour l'entreposage des munitions.

On roulait les obus jusqu'aux canons. On faisait passer les munitions par les ouvertures de service à l'extrémité des couloirs. L'exécution rigoureuse des tâches et le respect des règlements de sécurité réduisaient les risques d'accidents.
