Erected 1898 by The State of Indiana. (Marker Number MT-812.)
 
Location. 34° 54.037′ N, 85° 15.357′ W. Marker is in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, in Catoosa County. Marker can be reached from Viniard Road east of Lafayette Road, on the right when traveling east. Touch for map. Parking is available in a gravel lot on Viniard Road at N 34° 54.0833 W 85° 15.1037. From the parking area on Viniard Road follow the path south. The path will fork, take the right (east) path. A second path will branch off to the right (east). Follow this path. This path is just before the plaque for Kelly's Brigade (CSA). Near the site of the Hall house, a path will be on your right. Follow this path to the marker for the 44th Indiana. Marker is in this post office area: Chickamauga GA 30707, United States of America.
