Position of brigade at beginning of Confederate charge into village of Pleasant Hill April 9, 1864. Ordered to pull back the 14th Iowa, 27th Iowa and 24th Missouri complied. The 32nd Iowa did not and was overrun by the Confederates charging in and again when they withdrew, resulting in a regimental loss of 210 men. Casualties 14th Iowa - 80, 27th Iowa -
